Post submission process

Please take a printout of the form and keep the form and prescribed documents ready. We will arrange for the documents to be collected once the verification process is completed successfully at our end. Kindly enclose an intial Pay-in Cheque of Rs. 10,200 for account opening. Terms & Conditions

1. I authorize Axis Bank Limited (“Axis Bank”) / and its representatives to call or email me with reference to my online NRI account application. I further authorize Axis Bank or its subsidiaries/affiliates/associates/related parties/agents to contact me for marketing promotions, special offers and updates or any such information from time to time with respect to NRI Products & Services in accordance with applicable law.

2. The initial funding cheque should be drawn and payable to my/our name as mentioned on the government issued ID card provided by me/us to Axis Bank as a part of KYC documents.

3. The savings bank account should be used to route transactions of only non-business/non-commercial nature. In the event of occurrence of transactions of a different nature or any such transactions that may not be construed as bona fide transactions, Axis Bank reserves the right to unilaterally freeze operations in such accounts and/or close such accounts.

4. If there are no customer induced transactions in the account for a period of 2 (two) years, the account will be treated as an inoperative account. The customer should thus transact on the account periodically , so that it does not become inoperative. In case there are no customer-induced debit, credit and/or third party transactions in the account, then the account may be classified as inoperative. The service charges levied by Axis Bank and/or interest credited by Axis Bank would not be considered as customer induced-transactions.

5. Operations in inoperative accounts may be allowed only after due diligence in terms of ensuring the genuineness of the transaction, verification of the signature and identity of the customer, is completed by Axis Bank. It is advisable to submit a request for activation of the account at your branch in the format prescribed by Axis Bank to avoid any inconvenience/delays.

6. I/We shall maintain minimum quarterly average balance in the account failing which Axis Bank may deduct charges from the account as per rules prescribed in schedule of charges provided on the Axis Bank website, subject to revision by Axis Bank from time to time. The non-maintenance of such adequate balance shall automatically entitle Axis Bank to levy the charges for non-maintenance of the average balance. In such an event Axis Bank shall have the first right to set off any available credit that may be available in the account including from amounts flowing into the said account from the collection proceeds or any deposits.

7. Axis Bank reserves the right to close the accounts in case of either of the following: 1) In the event of the account balance being 0 (zero) for more than 6 (six) months since the date of Account opening; or 2) If the balance in the account has become 0 (zero) and remains so for 12 (twelve) months. However, before taking steps for closing the account, Axis Bank shall give appropriate notice and account holders are entitled to give their reply and rectify.

8. Satisfactory conduct of the account entails maintaining stipulated minimum quarterly average balance as well as sufficient balance to honour cheques issued to third parties. If there are high incidences to the contrary, Axis Bank reserves the right to close the account under intimation to the customer.

9. Any special instructions, both financial and non-financial in nature, like standing instructions, stop payment instructions, issuance of cheque books, demand drafts, pay orders, requests for hot carding ATM/debit cards, issuance of duplicate card/PIN must be communicated in writing. Otherwise, it shall not be binding on Axis Bank to comply with such instructions.

10. The savings bank account entitles access to Axis Bank ATMs and internet banking unless otherwise stated. Availing of the Anywhere Banking facility and the At Par Cheque facility is contingent upon the limits and service charges stipulated for these facilities as per the schedule of charges.

11. Any change of address should be immediately communicated in writing to Axis Bank along with such address proof as acceptable to Axis Bank.

12. Mere deposit of the amount for opening an account does not mean that Axis Bank has opened the account.

13. The schedule of charges applicable herein and as provided on the Axis Bank website, shall be subject to change on Axis Bank's discretion from time to time and shall be made available on the website or through the ATMs of Axis Bank for the user’s reference. The same shall be deemed to be sufficient notice in case of revised charges. 14. The account will be opened after receiving complete documents and verification by Axis Bank. Axis Bank reserves the right to reject the application in case of non-compliance with the KYC guidelines issued by Axis Bank. In case the application is rejected, Axis Bank reserves the rights to record and maintain all documents including the account opening form and KYC documents submitted to Axis Bank for the purpose of opening NRI account through the the online channel. Axis Bank shall not be required to return the account opening form and the KYC documents, thus received, under any circumstances.
